Placing Your Order

Step by step:

Width Selection:
- Choose an appropriate "Up to..." width option based on your artboard's total width. For instance, if your artboard width ranges from 1 inch to 11 inches, select the "Up to 11 inches" option. For widths between 11.1 inches and 23 inches, choose the "Up to 23 inches" option, and continue accordingly.
Contour Cut Option:
- Decide whether to select 'Yes' or 'No' for the Contour Cut. If you require any part of your print to be cut out, select 'Yes' and follow the instructions provided on the Contour Cut tab.
File Upload:
- Upload your file and ensure to adhere to the guidelines listed on the File Upload tab. Should you require additional assistance, our team is available to support you.
Input Print Length:
- Enter the print length in feet within the Quantity section. For example, if your artboard measures 71 inches, divide 71 by 12 to get approximately 5.91, thus, round up and select 6. For an artboard of 123 inches, divide 123 by 12 to get 10.25 and select 11.
Add to Cart:
- Once all the required fields are completed, proceed by adding your item to the cart.

File Upload Structure

Instawraps does not assume any responsibility for files uploaded by customers. We recommend adhering to the following guidelines to ensure optimal print quality:

File size should not exceed 1 GB. If your file is larger, please contcat us and we will assist.
Files that do not conform to these standards may result in print images that are blurred, pixelated, or distorted.
The dimensions of your graphic should range from 1in to 59in in width for the most print media films (beside perforated vinyl; 1in to 53in) and from 1in to 1776in (148ft) in length for the most print media films and overlaminates (beside perforated vinyl; 75ft) and also, 1in to 1776in (148ft) in length for Satin, Matte and Gloss finish, rest overlaminates; 75ft.
A resolution of 100 DPI at a 100% scale ratio is generally suitable for large format prints.
Ensure your design is created in CMYK mode without an embedded color profile. Files uploaded in RGB or other color standards will be converted to CMYK.
For vector files, convert all text to outlines, curves, or paths to ensure proper printing.
Set your artboard to the exact dimensions of the artwork. Prior to finalizing your file for upload, adjust the artboard to match the artwork size precisely, including any desired whitespace as part of the design.
Acceptable file formats include: PDF, PSD/PSB, TIFF, JPEG, PNG, AI, EPS, SVG. Each format offers unique qualities and limitations suitable for specific applications.
Files should be ready for printing as submitted, except for necessary scaling adjustments due to file size constraints. Any required scaling should be clearly noted in the order notes before placement.
Submission of multiple files with identical specifications (print media, size, finish type, contour) should be grouped in a Zip file.

Instawraps reserves the right to reject files that do not meet these standards. However, we do not undertake to verify compliance with these criteria.

Contour Cut Guidelines

Adhering to the following guidelines ensures the seamless assignment of your CutContour lines, which will not print if properly set. Non-compliance with these guidelines may lead to processing delays and additional costs.

Types of Cuts:

Kiss Cut: This cut goes through the vinyl but leaves the backing paper intact, allowing the sticker to be peeled off easily from the backing.

Die Cut (or Through Cut): This cut goes through both the vinyl and the backing paper, resulting in individual stickers that are fully separated from the backing material.

Files should be provided in AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF format featuring vector contour lines.
It is crucial that contour lines are designated as a Spot Color named according to its type; KissCut or DieCut. You can use both on the same file as well.

Proper designation ensures accuracy in the cutting process and avoids confusion and potential issues during the production process.
Grouping together into one layer each type of CutContour lines is a good idea. It will expedite the producion process.
All contour lines and the print image must be included within the same file.
Contour files must maintain a minimum distance of 2 inches from the edge of the selected width / length.
PLEASE DO NOT CREATE CUTTING MARKS!
The opacity of CutContour lines must be set to 100%.
Do not hide the CutContour layer or disable the print option.

While PNG files with transparent backgrounds are acceptable, they are not recommended. Please note that PNG files operate in an RGB colorspace and will be converted to CMYK for printing. We disclaim any responsibility for inaccuracies or color shifts that may occur due to this conversion.

Application Guide

Vinyl Wrap Application Guide

1. Prepare the Surface

Clean Thoroughly: Start with a clean surface. Use a mild soap or an automotive-grade cleaner to remove any dirt, wax, or grease from the area you’re wrapping.
Degrease: Once cleaned, some installers may choose to use an isopropyl alcohol solution to remove any remaining oils or residues. Let the surface dry completely.
Check for Imperfections: Look for any scratches, dents, or bumps. Vinyl conforms best to smooth surfaces, so fill or sand any imperfections for optimal results.

2. Measure and Cut the Vinyl

Measure Carefully: Measure the area you're wrapping and add a few extra inches on each side. This extra material gives you some leeway for errors or adjustments.
Pre-Cut the Vinyl: Cut the vinyl slightly larger than needed. You can trim it down during the installation, but an oversized piece makes it easier to handle.

3. Apply the Vinyl

Peel and Stick: Peel off a portion of the backing paper to expose the adhesive side. Start by sticking one edge of the vinyl to the surface.
Use a Squeegee: With a squeegee or a similar tool, slowly apply the vinyl in sections, smoothing out any air bubbles or wrinkles as you go.
Work in Small Sections: Only peel back as much of the backing paper as you can manage in one go. This helps avoid premature adhesion and reduces the chance of trapping air bubbles.

4. Heat and Stretch (for Curved Surfaces)

Heat the Vinyl: For curved or irregular surfaces, use a heat gun on low to medium heat to make the vinyl more pliable. Hold the gun a few inches away to avoid burning.
Stretch to Fit: Gently stretch the vinyl over curves while applying pressure to keep it in place. Avoid overstretching, as this may cause the vinyl to warp.

5. Trim Excess Vinyl

Careful Trimming: Use a sharp utility knife to trim away the excess vinyl. Make sure to press lightly to avoid cutting into the surface beneath.
Seal the Edges: Press down firmly along the edges to ensure a good seal. For a cleaner look, tuck edges into seams when possible.

6. Post-Heating

Heat Set: Once applied, go over the vinyl with a heat gun one last time to “set” it. This step helps the adhesive fully bond to the surface, especially on curves and edges.
Temperature Check: The ideal temperature for post-heating is around 200-250°F (93-121°C), but check your specific vinyl’s recommendations.

7. Final Inspection and Finishing Touches

Check for Air Bubbles: If you notice small bubbles, use a pin to prick a tiny hole and smooth out the area with your squeegee.
Allow to Set: Avoid washing or exposing the wrapped surface to harsh conditions for 24-48 hours to let the adhesive bond completely.

Handy Tools and Supplies for Vinyl Wrap Application

1. Essential Tools

Squeegee with Felt Edge: Helps smooth the vinyl while preventing scratches. The felt edge glides over the vinyl without damaging the finish, especially useful on glossy wraps.
Utility Knife: A sharp utility knife is essential for trimming excess vinyl with precision. Look for blades that can be replaced easily and are sharp enough to make clean cuts.
Heat Gun: Heats and softens the vinyl, making it more pliable for curved surfaces. A heat gun allows you to achieve a snug fit on tricky areas, like corners or contours.
Measuring Tape or Ruler: To measure areas accurately before cutting your vinyl, ensuring minimal waste and exact sizing.
Infrared Thermometer (Optional): Helps monitor the surface temperature during post-heating to prevent overheating and achieve proper adhesion.

2. Cleaning and Preparation Supplies

Isopropyl Alcohol (70% or Higher): Use to remove any oils or residues from the surface before application, ensuring the vinyl adheres well.
Lint-Free Cloths or Microfiber Towels: Ideal for wiping down the surface after cleaning without leaving fibers that could get trapped under the vinyl.
Degreaser (Automotive-Grade): For removing wax or polish from vehicles or other surfaces, leaving a clean base for the vinyl wrap.

3. Tools for Removing Air Bubbles and Wrinkles

Air Release Pen: A small pen tool with a fine point that lets you pop trapped air bubbles without damaging the vinyl. Simply prick the bubble and smooth it out.
Soft Glove or Wrap Glove: Protects the wrap and allows you to press down on the vinyl smoothly with your hand, reducing the chance of fingerprints or scratches.

4. Application Helpers for Curved Surfaces

Wrap Magnets: These small, strong magnets temporarily hold the vinyl in place, freeing your hands for better control while applying large sheets.
Contouring Tape (Knifeless Tape): Allows you to create clean, precise cuts along curves and edges without using a knife on the surface beneath the wrap.

5. Post-Installation Tools

Edge Seal Tape: Applied along edges and seams to secure the vinyl, especially useful for outdoor or high-impact areas where the vinyl might peel over time.
Finishing Spray or Detailer: Keeps the vinyl looking fresh and protects it from dust and light scratches. Look for a spray specifically designed for vinyl or wrap-safe applications.

These tools and supplies can enhance the application process, providing a smoother, more professional finish. Each item helps with specific aspects of vinyl wrapping, whether it's preparing the surface, applying the vinyl, or ensuring it lasts longer.

Knifeless Tape: A Must-Have for Clean, Blade-Free Cuts

What is Knifeless Tape?

Knifeless tape is a specially designed tape that lets you create precise lines and shapes on your vinyl wrap without the risk of scratching or cutting the underlying surface.
It has a thin filament embedded within it that acts as a cutting guide. After positioning the tape along the desired cut line, you apply the vinyl over it and then pull the filament to cut through the vinyl cleanly.

Benefits of Knifeless Tape

Safe and Scratch-Free: Ideal for applications where you don’t want to risk damaging the paint or surface beneath the vinyl.
Perfect for Curves and Complex Shapes: It can be applied in straight lines or curved paths, making it excellent for designing custom patterns or working around tight areas.
Professional Finish: Ensures clean, seamless edges, which is especially useful for two-tone designs, racing stripes, or intricate graphics.

How to Use Knifeless Tape

Step 1: Apply the knifeless tape along the line where you want to cut the vinyl. Ensure it’s pressed down firmly.
Step 2: Lay the vinyl wrap over the tape and smooth it down as usual.
Step 3: Once the vinyl is in place, pull the filament from the tape to cut through the vinyl cleanly.
Step 4: Remove the tape and smooth down any edges to finalize the application.

Types of Knifeless Tape

Design Line: Best for curves and intricate designs, as it’s thin and flexible.
Finish Line: Great for creating straight, clean cuts and ideal for panel edges or large surface areas.
Bridge Line: Designed for large gaps, this tape holds the vinyl taut across surfaces like door gaps or seams.

Knifeless tape is an essential tool for achieving a professional, clean-cut look, especially for detailed designs. It’s also easy to remove, leaving no residue or damage behind, making it ideal for both beginners and experienced wrappers.

General Policies

Samples

Most Instawraps products are color-based, and their appearance may vary due to screen resolution, lighting, and photo quality. We strive to present accurate images, but we strongly encourage customers to order samples before making a purchase to avoid discrepancies and return requests.

Camo Samples: These showcase the intricate pattern shapes, colors, and finishes but do not fully convey the size or scale of the design. Additional information, such as measurements and application images, is available for better visualization.

Films

Textured Vinyl / Wood Grain: Produced horizontally. Pieces smaller than 4-5 feet will have the grain running on the shorter side.
Directional Films: Changing the direction of some films during application may cause slight color variations.
Seams: Some rolls may contain a manufacturer’s seam every 200-300 rolls. Instawraps does not create these seams.
3M 1080 / 2080 Series: 3M transitioned from 1080 to 2080 in 2020. Once 1080 stock is depleted, orders will be fulfilled with the corresponding 2080 film.
PPF & Tint Orders: If a specified width is unavailable, we may substitute a different width while maintaining the correct square footage.
Film Branding: Some products arrive unbranded (e.g., Avery Chrome, 3M/Avery PPF). 3M tint may include a printed logo that can be removed with warm water.

Payments

Canadian customers may pay via Interac e-transfer, and U.S. customers via Zelle.
Payment must be sent immediately before completing checkout; unpaid orders are automatically canceled after 30 minutes.
If a payment appears on a statement but no confirmation email is received, the transaction likely did not process successfully and will be refunded by the bank.

Price Adjustments

Instawraps reserves the right to adjust product prices based on market conditions. Updates apply immediately to all future purchases.

Business Days & Customer Accounts

Canadian and international customers should reference Canadian business days; U.S. customers should check both Canadian and U.S. business days.
Orders cannot be modified once placed.
Customers must have an account to collect points in the Wrap’n Roll Rewards Program.

Reorder Access

Customers can reorder items from their account or via the order confirmation email.

Customer Service & Policies

Abusive behavior toward Instawraps staff will not be tolerated and may result in a ban.
The Support Team cannot assist with orders from third-party marketplaces (Amazon, eBay, etc.).

Shipping & Fulfillment

Orders may ship from multiple North American locations.
Express orders placed before 11:00 AM EST will usually ship the same day.
Non-express orders may take up to 3 business days for fulfillment.

No returns or refunds on chrome materials or custom prints.
Samples and PPF returns are subject to a 30% restocking fee.
Orders canceled after fulfillment may incur a 20-50% restocking fee.
All return items must be unused and in original packaging.

Pickup Order Returns

Returns within 30 days incur a 20% restocking fee.
Uncollected orders for over 14 days are also subject to restocking fees.

Warranty Claims

A one-year warranty applies only if installation was performed by a Certified Installer.
Claims must be submitted within the warranty period.

Defective Film Claims

Defects must be identified before installation. Installed materials beyond 10% will not qualify for claims.
Film haze is not a defect and can be removed with heat during installation.

Return Shipping Responsibility

Customers must cover return shipping costs.
Refunds for returned items (if applicable) may take up to three business days to process after receiving the item.
E-transfer / Zelle refunds will be issued as store credit.
